Strawberry's record (Video)

The game against Kifissia was one of records. Individual and team ones. The 21-0 streak ran by the Giannis Sfairopoulos' players is the best defensive performance in a quarter in the history of Greek basketball and this was immediately apparent to everyone.

What no-one wrote down as a record was the six steals made by DJ Strawberry. The American player tied the steals record in the history of Olympiacos for the Greek League, adding his name in a list with five more players.

The first one to have made six steals in a game was Thymios Bakatsias on December 3, 1994 against Larissa in the Peace and Friendship Stadium where the 'reds' had won 90-44.

David Rivers got to follow, who during the third final of the 1996-97 season against AEK at the Peace and Friendship Stadium stole the ball from the opponent six times. It was on May 18, 1997 and Olympiacos won that game 53-49.

One year later, on April 28, 1998 in Patrae against Apollon, Milan Tomic played the best defensive game of his career and with six steals made a major contribution towards the final 77-66.

The fourth one joined the company several years later. It was in the first final of the 2009-2010 season against Panathinaikos at OAKA and Thodoris Papaloukas made six steals, but the 'reds' had eventually lost that game 79-70.

The quintet was completed with Dimitis Katsivelis one year later, who in the game against Kolossos Rhodes at the Peace and Friendship Stadium on April 3, 2011 made six steals for the 93-63 'reds' win.

Since last Monday, the company with the top 'thieves' in the history of Olympiacos in one game has one more member. DJ Strawberry.
