LeDay: “I only want to win"

Zach LeDay can’t wait for the time he gets to play wearing the ‘reds’ jersey, according to his comments with olympiacosbc.gr!

“I’m really blessed to be a member of such a great team and that I’ll have the guidance of such a great coach like David Blatt. I wish to sincerely thank him for such a great opportunity and I’ll be working really hard to justify him” the American forward/center said, talking to the official web page of Olympiacos BC.

Although last year was his first professional one, he succeeded as a player of Hapoel Galil Gilboa to be noticed within the Israel league, where he was the second top scorer. Due to that as well as due to his personality, he wasn’t surprised to be able to make such a leap in his career so soon. “Each time I play for a team, I’m the one to expect the most of me before anyone else. I want to be winning wherever I am and no matter what jersey I’m wearing. I worked hard last year, I had a good season and this brought me to Olympiacos. I’ll be doing the same with my new team. I’ll continue working hard, continue improving and playing with all my heart for Olympiacos and my team mates”.

The 24year old American player knew a lot about the Piraeus team before getting to sign for it. The little he didn’t know, where filled in by our coach! “I had heard great things before I joined. For everything that I hadn’t known, coach Blatt was quick to fill me in, talking to me in detail about what Olympiacos stands for. Although it’s true that I knew most of them. I had known that they are among the top five teams outside the NBA and that they have a long history”.

His personal expectations as an Olympiacos player are matched to the ones he has for the team. “My personal goal is to be winning every night and help my team any way they ask me to. From there on, I would want to talk more specifically, the goal is to win any title there is… I would be doing all I can to win every game and I hope that by the end of the season we will have won everything!”.

Asked on his best playing feature and what he is to be contributing to the ‘reds’ game, he replied: “Definitely my strength! I can score with almost any way possible; however, my strength and intensity with which I play are the best features of my game”.

The fact that great names of European basketball are included in Olympiacos roster, make him eager for the new season to begin! “I’m excited to be able to play with such great players… I’m excited for my new ‘brothers’ I’ll be having with Olympiacos. I’m eager for the new season to begin! I have a lot to learn from them and I’m certain they will be helping me develop my game. I’ll be doing the best I can for them on my turn…”.

However, he has already had a talk with one of his ‘reds’ team mate. That was Williams-Goss, with whom he got to meet a few days ago in the States. “We hadn’t known one another before… I live in Las Vegas, he’s been here these days, so got to meet and talk. He’s a very cool guy! We talked about Olympiacos, the great opportunity we are met with, how hard we are ready to work to win every game and how excited we are about this new chapter in our career”.
