Sfairopoulos: «A tough mission»

Olympiacos visits Barcelona Friday (26/2, 20.45 CET) and Giannis Sfairopoulos talks about the game against the Catalans.

“Every game from now on is difficult since we enter the second round. We have seven more games to play, but we have isolated each game and we are now focusing on Barcelona. We know our mission is going to be tough, Barcleona has not been getting the necessary results in the first round, just like we haven’t either. Barcelona plays at home and the pressure is definitely going to be on them. From that point on, we need to remain focused, we need to do what we have said we need to do, we have a tough mission, we know what we need to do and if we remain focused and do what we must, then everything is going to be OK” the Greek coach originally said.

Asked about the addition of Papanikolaou and Warrick to the Euroleague roster, the coach of the Greek Champions said that “Papanikolaou is a player with known quality, he has helped the team in the past a lot and we know he’s going to help in the future, he’s another quality player in an already quality roster. In regard to Warrick, he’s also a player that will give an extra solution to us, one player that can contribute to a lot of aspects in the game. He has the body and the playing style that fits our game and that’s why we chose him”.

Finally, when asked about Barcelona’s condition, whether they are out of shape or have come together following their failure in the Copa del Rey, the Olympiaos coach said that “I think they are going to be very solid and will try to react. They are a great team that knows how to react and that makes our goal even more difficult”.
