Roberts: «We should be more aggressive»
Following the win over Rethymno, the American guard of Olympiacos, Brian Roberts, gave the signal for the counterattack of our team, while he did not shy away from self criticism.
“We needed a change” he commented and went on : “We needed to get out and play more aggressively in this game. We were kind of testing the waters in the first half and our opponent was very aggressive. However, we wanted to attack them in the second half and we did it. Luckily the shots went in, all the guys contributed and I hope this victory gives us a boost forward…”
Asked on what the ‘reds’ were missing in the previous games, he answered: “Aggressiveness was no 1. And me first of all… I need to be playing aggressively and I feel that I have disappointed my team. I want to be aggressive and all this starts from me. That’s why I got on the floor and tried so much in the game against Rethymno. However, many of my team mates stepped up in this game, so the key is to play aggressively”.
And he ended talking about the road game against Fenerbahce, but also the games that follow… “The key to the next game, but also the rest ones, is to be strong on both ends of the floor. The game against Rethymno is a good beginning and we need to continue playing the same way”.
