Koufos: «Olympiacos is a great team»

Kostas Koufos arrived Tuesday evening (23/02) in Greece for Olympiacos.

“It’s certainly is a new chapter in my life”, the international center commented and went on to say: “I’m looking forward to helping the team finishing the season strong. Olympiacos is a great team with really good players and I’m here to help in the best of my abilities. It’s a strange season in all over the world. But we need to keep fighting and take a different approach to each day. I know we have our chances to clinching a spot in the playoffs and for as long as I play, I will be competing hard to help the best way possible”.

Asked whether he had spoken with the coach of Olympiacos, Giorgos Bartzokas, on the phone, he replied: “Yes, we spoke. He told me come here, work and play hard”.

The environment is not going to be strange to Kostas Koufos, despite it’s his first time to play for a Greek team: “I know Sloukas, Papanikolaou, Printezis, Spanoulis … They are all great players and I’m looking forward to playing with them on the same court”.

Finally, when asked about his level of readiness, he replied: “It’s going to take me a few days to get into rhythm, but I’ll be ready”.
