«The dream is coming true»

STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENTS OF OLYMPIACOS BC, PANAGIOTIS AND GIORGOS ANGELOPOULOS:

«Since the day we took over the demanding job of steering Olympiacos, we set our compass for the furthest seas in basketball oceans. We looked for adventures in uncharted waters and glorious destinations, but we never stopped dreaming about our heaven. A harbor worthy to the most beautiful ship in the world.

Today, is a bright day, so bright as the 100 glorious years of the Club!

The dream of generations past and present is coming true: the basketball team now has its own harbor!

The Peace and Friendship Stadium, Olympiacos' home court since the late '80s, will be our home for the next 49 years.

The most effective way to birth history are actions and today, by the acquisition of the SEF, we have an act that writes History, in a landmark year for the Club itself.

The arena that has hosted some of Olympiacos' greatest moments as well as some of Greek basketball in general, finally comes to 'red & white' ownership. Just like we had envisioned it, just like millions of team loyal had anticipated happening.

Here, we are going to live new legendary nights, we are going to celebrate more trophies and applaud more great athletes that will wear the honored jersey with the lauded teenager logo.

During today's meeting with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, we acknowledged his sincere disposition into coming up with a fair solution. We want to thank him from the bottom of our hearts, together with all government members that helped seal this deal.

With responsibility, serious planning and respect towards a huge legacy, we continue building Olympiacos' future on solid ground. The SEF (i.e. Peace and Friendship Stadium) is, finally, our home!».
