OFFICIAL STATEMENT
In the context of a more comprehensive and objective information to the public, we need to disclose all that has happened before and after the game of Thursday, May 29, 2014 at OAKA.
More specifically, from Wednesday, May 28, 2014 a series of planned actions by the President of BC Panathinaikos D. Giannakopoulos broke out, with the sole aim of creating a climate of anomaly and a feeling of insecurity and unfair pressure on the referees of the finals.
• On Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at the meeting of CGC for the definition of arbitrators the third and fourth match, Mr. D. Giannakopoulos, inexplicably being in great anger since verbally attacking one of the referees of the second race with insulting characterizations such as "seedy", "worthless" and "wretched", then sent to the members present of CGC and heralded the challenge of violent incidents and behaviors in the forthcoming game in OAKA, threatening everyone and saying the following: "... you will see what will happen Thursday ... for your mother, your father, the your dead, disabled ... you will not have seen what takes place on Thursday and you know when I say something it happens ... ".
All that transpired during the above meeting of DPCs have been notified to the competent bodies as early as May 29, 2014.
• On Thursday, May 29, 2014 before the start of the game at OAKA, while at the door leading to the bellows Messrs. Panagiotis and George Angelopoulos, members of the security field, assisted by members of the personal security of Mr. D. Giannakopoulos, were physically aggressive, attempting by force to deny them entrance to the gym. This incident came directly into the knowledge of the commissars of the match, who intervened allowing them entry.
• Then, Mr. D. Giannakopoulos, ostensibly using the number of people who were going to sit in the team bench, unleashed appalling characterizations and insults against the owners of BC Olympiakos, constantly repeating the phrase: "... take these f*****s out."
• Before the end of the game, the President of BC Panathinaikos, not agreeing with the decisions of the referees approached the finish line and threw the umpire Mr. Koromilas three 50 euro banknotes, while calling the referee Mr Shinas 'Sold' and a 'bum' ( printed verbatim on the scoresheet).
• Similarly, immediately after the end of the game, Dimitris Giannakopoulos and members of his personal security entered the pitch and having insulted the referee Mr. Shinas with expressions like "you're a p **** and I'll f*** you" forced physical aggression (written verbatim on the scoresheet). The above fact and the faces of the perpetrators have been recorded in detail and published by numerous websites and newspapers. Indeed, these are the same people that implemented physical aggression on the owners of Olympiakos BC before the beginning of the game.
• Finally, always on the same day, The President of K.AE. Panathinaikos publicly and on live TV threatened the game referees Messrs. Koromilas, Shinas and Psarianos, stating the following: "... I want to say that the three arbitrators will find in front of them what they did today ...".
Inside the sick climate that has been deliberately formed deliberately by those who systematically undermine the healthy functioning of basketball in Greece and want to take charge and trample by any means available, the attitude of the referees in the game Sunday in SEF could not be an exception. Instead, therefore, for certain sources to cite us as supposedly having pushed the boundaries, they’d better take some self-criticism as to where it is lead Greek basketball to.
