The new Head Coach is Giorgos Bartzokas
Olympiacos BC announces the agreement with the coach Giorgos Bartzokas. The Greek coach is going to be the head of the team’s technical staff for the next two years.

Giorgos Bartzokas made his first statements as the Olympiacos head coach at Olympiacosbc.gr: “It’s an honor to represent a club like Olympiacos and I’m proud for it. They are the Greek and European Champions; it’s a team with great history. Being the head coach is not only an honor, but also brings great responsibility. It demands work ethos, methodology and most of all, dedication to the club and to everything it stands for. I would like to thank the Angelopoulos brothers for choosing me to help the team achieve more great things”.
Who is who…
Giorgos Bartzokas was born on June 11, 1965 and played for the team of Maroussi. However, some serious injuries forced him to put a stop to his playing career and decided to become a coach from a very young age (at 22), beginning with from local league teams (Pefki, Kifissia, Vrilissia).
He joined the coaching staff of Maroussi under Panagiotis Giannakis in 2003 and remained to the same position until 2006 having participated the League and Cup Finals in 2006 and the FIBA Euroleauge final in 2004.
He became the head coach of Olympia Larissa from 2006 till 2009 leading the team to the HEBA play-offs for two consecutive seasons.
His return to Maroussi as a head coach was combined with a huge success for the team. Maroussi qualified for the Euroleague TOP-16 and the team’s excellent course in the Greek League named him the best coach of HEBA for the season.
His last team before Olympiacos was Panionios, which he led to the third place of the 2011-2012 Championship.
