ANNOUNCEMENT
With its recent announcement, the Hellenic Basketball Federation, ignoring its institutional obligations once again employs “guerilla war” tactics and public vague communications.
Although there has been a whole week since we submitted our complaint asking for the annulment of the recent Greek Cup game result against Panathinaikos and despite continuous reminds, the Federation continues till today to strenuously deny a response in writing and notify us of the Executive Committee’s decision made on 13.10.2014 in regard to the supposed lack of authority on the part of the Federation’s Sporting Judge, as to the implementation of its own Regulations (!).
The reason for this apparently “indifferent” position is simple: By denying us of a response in writing and proceeding with the notification of the above said decision, at the same time DEPRIVES Olympiacos of his legal right to appeal the decision before the competent authorities.
What more should happen to make you understand that the Federation does not belong to anyone and ought before anyone else, to always abide by the State laws and respect its members?
Being informed by you that Mr. Vassilakopoulos has instructed that the 13.10.2014 decision of the Executive Committee not to be presented to us “because he’s angry’, cannot be taken seriously into account and of course does not absolve the Federation from its responsibilities. At the same time, it only highlights its administration’s ownership notions and perceptions.
Laws exist and should be applied the same way for all of us.
P.S.: The private agreement signed on 18.04.2003 among athletic judges, which you mention in your announcement, is a reality or just another “urban legend”? Because, for a week now no one with the Federation or with HEBA knows where exactly the said document is recorded! So, it would be a good thing that you post it on your web page together with the rest of the laws and regulations, so that all interested parties can be informed for its exact context and the judge responsible (!).
