About his award: “I need to thank the Euroleague coaches for voting for me to receive this great award. This happened after 15 years and it means that I did a good job meantime. Of course, a big part of this award belongs to the Olympiacos players, my coaching staff and to all my associates, for sure to the administration and the presidents for being extremely patient and faced huge problems before the beginning of the season and finally to the fantastic fans that really supported the team. I believe that in my heart I not only hold the players, the coaches and the fans from this season but all those thanks to who I was successful for such a long time”.
About the key to the success: “The key has been faith. The fact that we believed. Not only I, but everyone. The players believed, the administration believed, the coaches believed. That was the key. Our greatest victory has been that we got the fans to return to the gym due to the kind of basketball we were playing”.
A message for the fans: “Olympiacos is a team that has been, is and will be in my blood and I wish them all the best”.
