ANNOUNCEMENT
Following the failed attempt of D. Giannakopoulos’ attorneys and that of PAO BC to expel (!) from the Sports Appellate Court room our team’s attorney during the procedure held last Thursday, next day, we were publicly informed of the “double slap” (sic) brought by the rejection of our complaint submitted July 2015, in regard to the questionable statements made by the owner of PAO BC to the PRASINI (i.e. GREEN) newspaper.
Since reading the reasoning of the decision, leaked by PAO BC, it is understood that the new Sports Judge decided after 9 whole months (!), that the complaint we had submitted for the targeting of the following referees, Messrs. Christodoulou, Godas and Schinas, as well as the then Sports Judges Messrs. Evangelou and Lilou by D. Giannakopoulos was without context, we can’t but wonder about the following:
• For what reason the New Sports Judge delayed for more than 9 months to examine our complaint made on July 2015 and subsequently came to a decision right before the beginning of the Greek play-offs?
• Who is the one that caused “tension” among the fans? The one who obviously seeks for the implementation of the law or the one, who only during the last two years has:
- been punished 10 times (!) by the competent sporting authorities for various breaches of valid regulations, reaching to a point when the Committee for Sporting Spirit decided to deprive him of its community?
- makes a show of his denial to conform to court decisions?
- proceeds with signing image contracts to avoid the consequences of his unlawful actions?
- storms upon will into the locker rooms of teams and refs?
- makes a public target, curses, threats, throws candles and paper bills against Greek and foreign refs or at times pushes them around in front of TV cameras with all of Greece watching?
- attacks athletes of opposing teams with explicit vulgarity and disgusting threats?
• Since when the will to implement the law and abide by court decisions is interpreted as “causing tension?”
In a law abiding society, when someone reports a crime, it’s usually that the perpetrator is punished (if proven guilty) and not the one who reported them.
P.S. We had many times warned that “In Greece there are laws and laws are implemented and whoever thinks otherwise is mistaken”.
So, it is in vain that you trudge around judiciary bodies and recall false and non-existent agreements to “absolve sins”. You have never made such an agreement. At least not with us.
