An easy victory over Promitheas
Olympiacos got a comfortable win (92-75) over Promitheas at the SEF,f for the 6th day of the Basket Leageue.
With good defense and relying on long range good percentages, the ‘red & whites’ got an 8p. lead (17-19) at 7’. The Patras’ team put pressure in defense and with a partial 8-2 closed in to two points (19-17) at 10’. But that was as far as they went. The simultaneous presence of Goss, Larentzakis, Papanikolaou and Tanoulis on the floor gave our team extra energy, that got to tighten its defense, run the fast-break and widen its lead to +13 (36-23) at 15’. Form that point on, Olympiacos steadily maintained complete control of the game and with a buzzer beater by Walkup from the three point line, got to close the first half at +12 (51-39).
They didn’t stop there though… With Thomas Walkup offering an offensive recital and Alec Peters taking the baton, when the first one retired in the bench, our team skyrocketed the difference to 26p. (73-47) at 27’. Moustapha Fall was the next one to take a leading role by dominating both posts and Olympiacos was once again at +26 (85-59) at 33’, allowing Giorgos Bartzokas to rest key players in view of the double game Euroleague week.
