A walk-through Lavrio
Olympiacos routed Lavrio in the latter's home court 96-54, for the 9th day of the Basket League.
The 'red & whites' seemed to be disorganized during the first 9 minutes of the game, which the hosts took advantage of and led by 9p. (17-8). At this point though, the lights came back for our team. A superb defensive game and with score from multiple sources, allowed Olympiacos to respond with a partial 15-2 and get a +14 lead (19-33) at 12'. They didn't stop there also... Relying on consistently exquisite defense as well on their sweeping dominance with rebounding (8-24 in the first half), our team got to further the distance, with Michalis Lountzis and Luke Sikma mainly carrying out the execution and hence closing the first half at +15 (25-50).
With the same plan (pressing defense and dominating rebounding) and Nikola Milutinov and Alec Peters spearheading the offence, the 'red & whites' sent the difference sky-high, at 43p. (38-81) at 32'. Given the game having been decided long before, Giorgos Bartzokas saw to maintain his team's strength in view of the difficult games coming up for the Euroleague. However, our team's tempo remained a high one, just like the chaotic difference between the two teams (+46, 43-89 at 37').
The quarters: 19-26, 25-50, 36-75, 54-96.
