An easy win over Apollon Patras
Olympiacos bested Apollon at the SEF 84-65, for the 11th day of the Basket League. Naz Mitrou Long made his debut with the red & white jersey in the game.
With Alec Peters and Nikola Milutinov taking the lead, Olympiacos very quickly set the tempo and got +16 difference (33-17) at 10'.
Giorgos Bartzokas took the opportunity to rest players that have been carrying the team. At the same time, he gave the chance to players that either don't usually get a lot of playing time, or because they need it to get into competition rhythm (like Lountzis, Petrusev, Mitrou-Long and Papas) and they proved him right in doing so.
With a good defensive game and offensive pluralism, the 'red & whites' increased the distance even longer and with two back-to-back impressive dunks by Filip Petrusev, they went to the locker rooms with a +23 (51-28 at 20').
In the second half, the 'red & whites' tempo slowed down a bit, but the distance between the two teams remained broad (+20, 66-46 at 30'). A lay-up by Tanoulis sent Olympiacos to +31 (84-53 at 37'), but Apollon made good on our team's relaxed mode and closed in 84-65 striking from afar.
Moustapha Fall was not included in the 12-men roster (rested) as well as Isaiah Canaan (discomfort in the abductors).
The quarters: 33-17, 51-28, 66-46, 84-65.
