2024 starts with a sold out and a win!
Olympiacos bested Emporio Armani Milan 79-74 in a packed SEF, beginning the new year with a win.
With Moustapha Fall dominating the post, Olympiacos set the tempo and got to lead by 8p. (15-7) at 7'. However, Armani pressed in the back court, 'struck' from the 3-point line and closed the first quarter leading by 1 (18-19). Giannoulis Larentzakis replied in the same fashion and together with Nikola Milutinov helped our team regain control (34-28 at 17'). The Italians did not give up though... They took advantage of the bad percentages of the 'red & whites' closing in to 3p. (36-33), but Shaquielle McKissic and Isaiah Canaan took it upon themselves to maintain Olympiacos in the driver's seat.
In the 3rd quarter, Bartzokas' players moved the ball efficiently, made the right decisions and with Alec Peters and Moustapha Fall leading the offense, completely controlled the game tempo (+15, 63-48 at 29'). Thanks to an amazing Alec Peters, the 'red & whites' maintained the distance (70-57 at 35'). However, their offense seemed 'blocked' a little after, received a partial 17-4 and saw Armani tying the score 74-74. The return of Moustapha Fall on the floor worked as a catalyst... The French center did it all, scored, played defense, dished assists and 'sealed' the win for our team!
