Kept the best for last!

A sweeping six-minutes at the game finale (when they only received three points!) was enough to give Olympiacos the win over Villeurbanne (80-64), for the 31st round of the Euroleague, which allows the team to keep aiming high!

With good defense and Moustapha Fall absolutely dominating the post, Olympiacos got to build a 12p. lead (19-7) at 6'. The French found target from the perimeter and closed in to 6p. (26-20 at 14'), however, the 'red & whites' paid them back in the same fashion sending the difference sky-high at +14 (39-25). However, turnovers and lapses in defense allowed the guests to react and running a partial 10-4 score, to close into 8p. (43-35 at 20').

Olympiacos played a terrible game in the second half... Gaps in the defense, poor shooting, turnovers and missed open shots, allowed Villeurbanne to get ahead for the first time at 25' (45-47) and close the third quarter in the lead (54-55). Up to 34' the game was a derby (59-61), but at that point, the 'red & whites' switched the lights on... They became effective with their defense, opened fire from the three-point line and running an 18-0 streak (77-61) sealed the win. The final score (80-64) was written from the three-point line by Shaquielle McKissic.

Filip Petrusev got injured in his right knee at 18' and left the game. The Serbian forward was immediately transferred to Athens Medical Center, where he underwent an MRI, which determined that he has suffered a bone contusion. His situation will be evaluated again tomorrow (22/02) as well as the time frame for his absence.
The quarters: 20-12, 43-35, 54-55, 80-64.
