Won, despite the rough patch
Olympiacos beat Peristeri 91-83, for the 2nd day of the Basket League Top-6.
Relying on good perimeter percentages, the guests built a +9 lead from the start (14-23). Nigel Williams-Goss and Moses Wright took over coming from the bench and by running a partial 9-0 out team tied the score 23-23 at 10'. However, Olympiacos wasn't able to find rhythm... The team paid for its terrible defensive game (the 52 points received in the first half were enough proof) and its bad decision-making and saw Peristeri (that was shooting very efficiently from the 3-point line) to get ahead with 12p. (31-43 and 36-48). Giannoulis Larentzakis and Shaquielle McKissic tried to shrink the difference, but they weren't able to do anything better from closing into 9p. (43-52) at 20'.
In the second half, Fall dominated rebounding on both ends of the floor, our team moved the ball correctly and the difference came down to 2p. (55-57 at 25'). However, missed free throws and off-the-mark shots allowed Peristeri to reply with a partial 10-2 and get ahead by 10 (57-67) at 28'. It was somewhere there that the 'red & whites' really turned their performance around... They played defense effectively, found solutions in the offense with Goss and Wright, replied with a partial 19-2 and turned the tables (76-69 at 35'). From there on, our team maintained a steady lead and got the win without actually being threatened.
The quarters: 23-23, 43-52, 64-67, 91-83.
