And now for the sweep...

Olympiacos bested Peristeri 83-72 in the first semi-final and now aims for the win on Saturday (01/06) that will give him the ticket to the Basket League finals.

Isaiah Canaan began the game on high gear, scored 12p. (4/4 threes) and was the main reason our team closed the first quarter in the lead (+4, 22-18). In the 2nd quarter, Filip Petrusev substituted for Nikola Milutinov and despite doing a very good job offense wise, he quickly made two fouls and returned to the bench. Nikola Milutinov and Nigel Goss gave an offensive boost to the 'red & whites' who got a +9 lead for the first time in the game at 15' (33-24). However, bad defensive operation and lost rebounds allowed Peristeri to close into 40-36 at 20'.

With Canaan continuing where he left off in the first half, Olympiacos maintained the lead, despite the pressing defense Peristeri was playing causing them quite a few problems (48-45). However, a good four-minutes perios was enough for Bartzokas' players to send the difference to 14 points. With solid defense, Canaan, Peters and McKissic running the offense and a partial 13-2, they shaped a 61-47 score at 29'. Bad decision in the offense later on though, in combination to the good percentages of the guests from the long range resulted in Peristeri closing into 6p. (70-64). Olympiacos presented good reflexes, replied with Peters (he scored 8 consecutive points) and restored order (78-64 at 36'). From that point on, the game became rather procedural and our team got the win with ease.

The quarters: 22-18, 40-36, 64-57, 83-72.
