Super Cup 2024: A win vs Peristeri and now the final

Olympiacos overcame the obstacle of Peristeri (79-74) albeit having a tough time doing so and qualified for the Super Cup final, where he will compete for the first trophy of the season against Panathinaikos.

Moses Wright was the one to open the score for our team (2-3), that made a rather sluggish beginning in the game and saw Peristeri running a partial 7-1 with Justin Patton in the lead (9-13 at 5'). The 'red & whites' got to up their level of intensity in their game and running a 9-0 partial got ahead (18-17) with Sasha Vezenkov spearheading the offense, closing the first quarter at +3 (22-19). In the second quarter, the difference was even +12 (34-22) with Tyler Dorsey weighing in the offensive equation. Coach Limniatis' team reacted, running a partial 9-0 of their own (34-31), but with good ball movement Olympiacos continued leding the score up until the end of the first half (41-34).

In the third quarter, our team received 29 points and Peristeri was dominating the game. With Coffey leading the opponent's team, they originally went ahead by one (47-48) and then they got to build a +8 lead (53-61), with 2:30' on the clock. The quarter ended with Olympiacos trailing by 3 (60-63). In the fourth and final quarter, the red & whites improved on their defensive game and with Filip Petrusev leading them, they came ahead and stayed there until the end of the game (79-74).
