5 minutes were enough...
Olympiacos 'floored' it during the last five minutes of the game (when he also only received 4p.) and beat Lavrio on the road 93-75 for the Basket League premiere.
Relying on their solid defense, the hosts set the tempo from the beginning of the game (20-16 at 9' and 25-19 at 12') and maintained a steady lead up until 13' (27-23). The 'red & whites' balanced the game (34-34) and with 3 points by Filip Petrusevn (bucket and one), they got ahead for the first time in the game (36-37 at 16'). However, they weren't able to impose their game... They paid the price for missed free throws (9/15) and defense gaps and saw Lavrio closing the first half at +3 (43-40).
The outlook of the game did not change in the second half. Olympiacos was far removed from his standards, which the hosts took advantage of, remaining in the driver's seat up until 29' (64-63). With Fournier, Vezenkov and Vildoza our team got to run a partial 6-0 and closed the 3rd quarter at +5 (64-69). Again though, they were not able to completely control the game although they never lost the lead again... Lavrio continued with an asphyxiating defense, closed in 71-73 at 35', but Olympiacos' superb defensive performance from there on and an 18-0 run (with Vildoza and Vezenkov as the main protagonists), allowed them to close the game with ease (+18, 71-91 at 39').
The quarters: 22-19, 43-40, 64-69, 75-93.
