A win at AEK's home court

Olympiacos beat AEK 96-77 in the opponent's home court, for the 5th day of the Basket League.

With Moustapha Fall and Sasha Vezenkov cooperating seamlessly and Evan Fournier adding to the team's tally, Olympiacos set the tempo in the first quarter against AEK. the 'red & whites' got to lead with double digits after a three by Thomas Walkup (12-22) with 1.5' on the clock, reached a +13 margin (13-26), but received a three at the buzzer and the quarter closed at 16-26. In the second quarter, Dorsey and Milutinov gave our team an initial +15 lead (18-33, 12'), but the hosts reacted and running an 11-0 partial streak (29-33, 15'), dropped the difference to 4p. during three minutes marked by bad defensive reactions and consecutive turnovers for Olympiacos. Fournier created a 9p. distance for Olympiacos (34-43, 18') but the hosts once again got to respond and half time ended at 41-45.  

At the beginning of the third quarter, the home team successfully tied the score (45-45, 21'), but Olympiacos ran a 7-0 partial of their own and once again got to lead (45-52, 24'). Lack of intensity in defense allowed AEK to stay in the game, with the quarter ending at +8 (56-64). In the last quarter, the Piraeus team had clearer thinking when attacking the ball and greater defensive focus, hence dominating the game. They reached a +11 (58-69, 31') and then at +15 (62-77, 33'), with the 'yellow & balck' remaining competitive (74-83, 36'), however, without being able to actually threat the guests, who got to open up the difference (77-94, 38') mainly with Tyler Dorsey and Nikola Milutinov and got an important road win.
