Olympiacos delivered a dominant performance against Karditsa, cruising to an 89 - 56 victory in the Super Cup semifinal and securing a place in the tournament’s final, where they will face Promitheas (27/09, 19:00 CET) to fight for the first trophy of the season.
With high energy on offense and Tyler Dorsey and Sasha Vezenkov leading the charge, the ‘red & whites’ got off to a strong start (5-2, 2'). The team moved the ball patiently, showcasing great offensive chemistry, highlighted by a long assist from Thomas Walkup to Vezenkov (12-7, 4'). In the second quarter, Olympiacos shifted gears, outscoring Karditsa 19-5 and taking complete control of the game. They maintained a fast pace, executed well offensively, and defended consistently. Donta Hall finished four alley-oops off assists from Papanikolaou and Peters, while Saben Lee added scoring as well. The first half ended with Olympiacos firmly in command at 47-25.
With a 20+ point lead already built by halftime, Olympiacos slowed the tempo in the third quarter but still dominated the game (50-28, 23'). Kostas Antetokounmpo made his presence felt with three blocks, and Fournier connected with Saben Lee for a powerful dunk (54-32, 27'). The quarter ended with Olympiacos comfortably ahead.
Not much changed in the final quarter, as the game had effectively turned into a formality. Giorgos Bartzokas’ players continued to pile on points, stretching the lead to +34 (87-53, 38') and finishing with a convincing 89-56 win.
