Still undefeated in the GBL after the win over Maroussi

Olympiacos defeated Maroussi 104–89 in the 15th day of the Stoiximan GBL, remaining alone at the top as well as undefeated in the Greek League.

Once again, our team's MVP was Sasha Vezenkov, who finished the game with 23 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals. He was followed in performance by Tyrique Jones with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Olympiacos had four players scoring in double figures, while the 36 assists they recorded make for the second-best mark in the club’s history in the Greek league and the best in the last 31 years.

Giorgos Bartzokas started the game with Walkup, Dorsey, Papanikolaou, Vezenkov, and Jones, with our captain scoring the first points of the game. Both teams showed an intention to play at a fast pace from the onset, and Olympiacos took a 4p. lead (16–12) after the first five minutes.

Sasha Vezenkov once again became the first Olympiacos' player to reach double figures, as with a dunk 3:51'' before the end of the first quarter he made the score 23–15. The opening period ended with a 10-point lead (32–22).

In the second quarter, Olympiacos was even more relentless, confirming the excellent form they are in, and the lead quickly grew to over 20 points. Peters, Fournier, and Ward executed perfectly from the perimeter, and Giorgos Bartzokas’ team pushed their offensive output past 60 points one minute before halftime.

After the break, Giorgos Bartzokas distributed playing time with the upcoming double EuroLeague week in mind, and his players managed their lead excellently. In the first five minutes of the second half, the 'red & whites' showed a few lapses of concentration, but by targeting Sasha Vezenkov when in offense, our team had no problems. With Giannoulis Larentzakis’ second three-pointer, the lead reached 22p. (78–56), and shortly after Vezenkov surpassed 20 points for the 80–58 markup.

In the third quarter, it was also time for Tyler Dorsey to find score, with the Greek-American guard reaching double figures before the start of the final period.

In the last stretch, Olympiacos slowed the pace even more, but that did not prevent them from surpassing 100 points, eventually claiming the 104–89 win. All 12 players scored for our team, while 11 of them also handed out assists, completing a total of 36 in that statistical category.

The quarters: 32–22, 61–41, 89–68, 104–89.
