My Olympiacos…
If it’s a dream, don’t wake me up, if it’s a lie, don’t tell me the truth, Olympiacos is the EUROPEAN CHAMPION for 2012. The awesome “red” babies of Dusan Ivkovic performed one more … miracle and wrote history in Istanbul.
In one of the most dramatic finals in the Euroleague history, Olympiacos was trailing by 19 points, but with guts and soul made the most unexpected upset in the fourth quarter and got the victory 61 – 62 in the last second with a basket by Giorgos Printezis and of course the valuable trophy.
Vassilis Spanoulis, the Final Four MVP passed the ball to “Print” at the right moment and he did not miss in the most important moment of his life. The party that began in “Sinan Erdem” was without a precedent, with the owners of the team Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos being the ones to jump start the celebrations.
And when the cup was held up in the sky by Spanoulis – Printezis – Vassilopoulos, then everyone realized that what they were witnessing was anything but a dream.
As for the game… The “reds” began the first half nervously and on the other hand, CSKA with Milos Teodosic gunning got a security lead that even reached 19 points. Nevertheless, this was not enough because the soul of Olympiacos was not ready to be subdued.
