Betrayed by fatigue and missed shots

Olympiacos did not make it in the fifth and final game of the STOIXIMAN.GR Basket League, lost 51-66 to Panathinaikos Superfoods and hence did not succeed in winning its third League title in a row.

The game had an ideal beginning for the Piraeus team that got an 11-5 lead and then 17-14 having made 3/5 threes in the beginning of the game. However, they did not continue the same way. Nerves, missed shots and fatigue cost the ‘reds’ resulting in a 27-36 score at half-time and the guests running a partial 10-22 in the second quarter.

The outlook remained the same into the third quarter. The ‘reds’ were shooting very badly, nerves were apparent, there was no clear thinking and third quarter ended with the guests leading 37-57. Everything was decided by that time and Olympiacos lost 51-66.
