Scored "100" against Faros Larissa

Olympiacos has returned to winning. This time, it was Faros Larissa at the SEF that lost to the 'reds', 100-69 for the 12th day of the STOIXIMAN.GR Basket League.

Good defense and with Vasilis Spanoulis, Kostas Papanikolaou and Vangelis Mantzaris leading the offense, allowed the 'reds' to impose the rhythm from the start (7-0 at 2') and built a 14p. lead (29-15) at 9'. They did not stop there though… Sticking by their good defense, the Sfairopoulos' players did not allow Faros Larissa to score more than 13 points in the second quarter, when at the same time they were skyrocketing the margin to +27 thanks to great pluralism in the offense (59-32 at 20').

The Olympiacos coach was quick to decide to preserve the players' strength in view of the hard upcoming week (with two European games and one for the Greek League), however, the tempo did not lag. On the contrary, our team widened the … distance following the same tactic (33p. difference, 71-38 at 24'). The game was decided early on and Olympiacos got a comfortable victory.

"We played a good game and we are moving on»

The 'reds' coach Giannis Sfairopoulos did not analyze the game a lot… "I don't have much to say. We played a good game. We were good in our defense, run the open court, scored easy buckets. It was a game that we got to use all our players. Some need to get into rhythm; some are recovering from injuries and need to get back in shape. Those more tired than others got to rest. It was a good game in general and we move on".

Brian Roberts commented: "We need to make a come back. We wanted to make a step ahead following Vitoria and to play better. We reacted. We need to improve, to be tough throughout this week. We need to protect our home court against Maccabi at first. It's going to be a challenging week, I believe we are going to be ready".
