"The best Olympiacos possible..."

The unofficial jump ball of the “Betshop Basket League” was called Monday night (01/10) with the official presentation of the season.

Our team’s coach, David Blatt, commented: “I wish to thank the sponsors for their support towards the Greek League and the fans that follow the sport and give us a reason to exist. I have always said let’s see what sunlight will be bringing. We are like alchemists who try to deliver the best possible product. As a coach, I always believed that I should be helping my players become the best version of themselves, both as players and as people. I would like to help Olympiacos become the best he can be. It’s a team with a great tradition and of course it’s an honor for me to be here”.

Vangelis Mantzaris pointed out: “It’s the most competitive league of the past few years and may the best team wins it. Two years without a title is too much for us. We’ll look into what went wrong, we have a new coach with a new philosophy and together we are going to try and bring Olympiacos back to winning titles”.

Upon receiving his award as a member of the best starting five of last season, Nikola Milutinov said: “Thank you very much. It’s a very important award for me. I wish we have a good and competitive season, without injuries”.

Olympiacos BC was also represented at the event by the General Director of the Club, Christos Stavropoulos, the Director of Marketing & Commercial Development, Nikos Lepeniotis and the Team Manager, Christos Bafes.
