"We had an opportunity to get into playing rhythm"

The coach of Olympiacos, Giorgos Bartzokas, stated: “Our goal is to give minutes to all the players. Lavrios is an extraordinary team and we played with focus. Despite Harrison, Papanikolaou and Martin did not play, the players that are going to be playing against CSKA on Thursday did, so it was a good opportunity for us to get into playing rhythm”.

And went on to say: “I want to sincerely congratulate Lavrio. They are the pleasant surprise of the Greek League. We were very happy to play, to see their players as well, despite the absence of Mouratos, who has started from us. I really want to congratulate them”.

Asked about the signing of Kostas Koufos, who is expected to arrive tomorrow in Greece (24/02), he said: “Hopefully he’s a good choice for all of us. We had to make a move following Martin’s injury. We think that it was the right one, given the time in the season and the market status. Kostas is a guy with a long NBA career, he has played 600 games. Of course, the truth is that he’s been inactive for almost a year and it’s going to take a little time. We don’t have time though, that’s why we are going to try to get him to help us the best possible with some express lessons”.
