The reds succumbed to Fenerbahce (vid)
Olympiacos did not succeed in expanding his winning streak. The reds lost to Fenerbahce 71-76 at the SEF, in a game for the 31st round of the Euroleague.
Nothing worked as it should for the reds, on either end of the floor, during the first half. The Turkish team built a +12 margin very early into the game (2-14 at 5’) and despite the many different line ups Giorgos Bartzokas put on the floor, the guests consistently maintained absolute control, closing the first half at +16 (27-43).
Our team showed to have pulse in the second half, and running a partial 12-2, closed in at 6p. (39-45 at 25’). However, weaponizing their pressing defense and their good perimeter percentages, the guests regained total control (57-72 at 38’). In the last couple of minutes, the ‘reds’ gave all they had to turn the game around and with a partial 14-2 closed in at 3p. (71-74) with 10.2’’ on the clock. However, De Colo kept his calm when at the free throw line, where he got to write the final 71-76.
The quarters: 11-20, 27-43, 49-58, 71-76.
