A huge win at the OAKA!
Olympiacos bested Panathinaikos at the OAKA 84-65, for the 17th day of the Euroleague.
With good defense and a Tyler Dorsey feeling ‘hot’ from the 6.75m. arc, the ‘reds’ built a +9 margin by 7’ (9-18). Kostas Sloukas succeeded Dorsey at scoring, while when Sasha Vezenkov ‘opened fire’, the difference skyrocketed to +16 (23-39) at 14’. Panathinaikos responded with a 9-0 streak and closed in at 7p. (32-39), however, Bartzokas’ players showed reflexes. Once again leaning on their defense, they got to run a partial 6-0 and went to the locker rooms with +13 (32-45).
In the second half, following a bucket by Vezenkov, Olympiacos climbed to +15 (32-47), but terrible choices in the offense and gaps in the defense, allowed the hosts to close in at 3p. (51-54) at 30’. The ‘reds’ though were resilient through this counter attack… They put pressure in the defense, found solutions in the offense with Shaquielle McKissic and Vezenkov and increased the distance with their opponent to +12 (60-72) at 37’. At somewhere that point everything was decided… Olympiacos continued put pressure in defense, Sloukas struck from the perimeter and the margin went to +16 (61-77) at 39’.
