Breezed through Rhodes

Olympiacos bested Kolossos with ease, 87-69, for the 13th day of the Stoiximan Basket League with the local team succumbing for the first time in the season at home.

Relying on the dominating performance of Moustapha Fall in the post, the ‘reds’ built a +9 lead (7-16 at 7’). Kolossos took advantage of the many turnovers our team was submitting and led in offense by Floyd, they ran a partial 11-3 that closed the game to one point (18-19 at 11’).

Bartzokas’ players continued making unforced turnovers (up to 20’ they had made 11 for only 3 by the hosts), but, good defense, absolute dominion of rebounding (10-24 in the first half) and Kostas Sloukas and Hassan Martin running point in the offense, they regained complete control and closed the first half at +12 (32-44).

In the 3rd quarter, the ‘reds’ had a sluggish start, they once again committed a lot of turnovers, made some bad offensive decisions and allowed the home team to close in at 5p. (41-46 at 24’). But that was as far as it went…

Playing solid defense and with Tyler Dorsey and Thomas Walkup in leading roles, Olympiacos once again set the tempo and sent the difference skyrocketing to +19 (49-68). From there on, the ‘reds’ saw to simply maintain a steady distance and reach a comfortable 69-87 win.
