A winning finish and off to Belgrade!

Olympiacos, who had already sealed first seed and the through and through home court advantage for the playoffs, beat Kolossos at the SEF 93-74 for the last day of the regular season of the Stoiximan Basket League and is now solely focusing on the Euroleague Final Four.

The ‘reds’ made their message clear to their opponents from the start… With Moustapha Fall dominating the post, they got to lead 7-0. The guests tried to react (11-8 at 7’), but the entrance of Kostas Sloukas changed the status. The experienced guard facilitated, Kostas Papanikolaou and Livio Jean-Charles executed and the difference jumped to 17p. (29-12 at 11’). From there on, Giorgos Bartzokas’ players saw to maintaining the distance and closed the first half at +18 (43-25).  

The outlook remained the same in the second half… Kolossos tried to pose some threat in the beginning of the 3rd quarter (45-32), however, Sasha Vezenkov took over in offense (52-35), order was immediately restored and hence the ‘reds’ steadily maintained complete control (67-51 at 30’). Despite the game having already been decided, Olympiacos did not slow down, at least not in offense, resulting in a +22 difference (82-60 at 35’). The final 93-74 came with the ‘reds’ not running their last offensive play despite having another 20’’ on the clock.
