Olympiacos wins the 2022 Super Cup 2022!

The first title of the season is ‘red & white’! Olympiacos bested Panathinaikos 67 – 52 and won the 2022 Super Cup!

The ‘red & white’ were quite nervous in the beginning, which allowed Panathinaikos to get a head start by 7p. (9-2 at 3’). However, good defense and equally good perimeter percentages, gave the ‘red & white’ the chance to reply with a partial 15 -2 and get ahead 17-11 at 9’, with Canaan and Vezenkov being the main protagonists during that time. Our team, despite not making the optimal offensive choices, was able to steadily maintain the lead up until 18’ (32 – 26). With two back to back threes, the ‘greens’ tied the score 32-32, but Bolomboy and McKissic helped our team close the first half in the lead (34-37).

In the second half, the ‘red & white’ simplified things… Putting pressure in the defense, they passed the ball inside to Moustapha Fall and sent the difference to +13 (56 - 43) at 30’. In the last quarter the tempo slowed won, but despite the numerous turnovers and bad offensive decisions, Olympiacos maintained a steady distance (47-63 at 34’) and got the win with characteristic ease.
