Won in Vitoria too!

Olympiacos refuses to lose. This time, it was the turn of Baskonia to lose (97-92) and hence the Piraeus team completed the double round week undefeated.

The ‘red & white’ made an ideal beginning in the game. They pressed in the back court, had excellent movement of the ball when attacking and got to build a +18 margin very early in the game (8-26 at 8’). Our team closed the first quarter at +16 (16-32), however, Baskonia was quick to attack back. With Sedekerskis running point and relying on physical defense, led Bartzokas’ players to turnovers and poor offensive decisions turning the game upside down. More specifically, the hosts got ahead for the first time in the game with 59’’ on the clock before the end of the 2nd quarter and closed the first half at +5 (47-42).

Baskonia opened fire from the perimeter and broadened the distance to 10p. (67-57), but the amazing Sasha Vezenkov kept Olympiacos ‘alive’ (67-63 at 28’). The hosts once again increased their lead to +9 (74-65) at 30’, however, it was the turn for Kostas Sloukas to take action. The international guard took center stage, Olympiacos played some great defensive game and running a 10-0 streak the ‘red & white’ got ahead 74-79 at 33’ never to lose the lead again (87-93, 15’’). Baskonia fought to the end, sent the game to free throws roulette, but Sloukas, Walkup and Larentzakis made all of their when going to the line.

The quarters: 16-32, 47-42, 74-65, 92-97.
