Unstoppable in Thessaloniki!
Olympiacos cruised through Pylaia! The team defeated PAOK 88-68 and maintained its unbeaten record in the Basket League.
The “red and whites” started off slow, committed many turnovers and let the home team to get a 12-9 lead 6 minutes in. The tides turned very quickly… Giorgos Bartzokas players’ pressed on defense and with the offensive contributions of Sasha Vezenkov and Isaiah Canaan “responded” with a 12-0 run, taking the lead of the game (12-21 in the 9th minute). From that point on, Olympiacos not only maintained full control of the game, but with Giannoulis Larentzakis and Joel Bolomboy leading the way, took the lead up to 17 points (31-48 at half time).
Our team never took its foot of the gas! Through incredible defense and with Isaiah Canaan constantly connected to the hoop, the lead exploded to +32 (41-73) 29 minutes in. In the last quarter the “red and whites” relaxed and let PAOK decrease their margin, without it ever getting under 20 points (68-88).
- Thomas Walkup and Shaquielle McKissick did not play in the second half. The former sat out with lower back tightness, while the latter sat out with adductor tightness.
