Defeated in Belgrade
Olympiacos played a subpar game and lost in Belgrade to Partizan 90-75 for the 30th round of the Euroleague.
As long as Moustapha Fall was dominating both posts, the ‘red & whites’ were keeping the scaled balanced (24-22 at 9’), despite the good long range percentages of the hosts. However, our team appeared to be completely disorganized in the second quarter. Gaps in its defense, poor decision making in the offense and tragic percentages from the three point line (0/12) allowed Partizan to set the tempo and build a 15p. lead (43-28) at 16’. Christos Pappas tried many different line ups, but until the end of the first quarter nothing was working right.
In the second half, Olympiacos played their standard effective defensive game, they ran the fast-break and closed in to 4p. (50-46) at 25’. Partizan once again ‘struck’ from the perimeter (from where the ‘red & whites’ were desperately off range, with 0 made for 15 attempts) and raised their lead to 11p. (63-52). At 31’, McKissic made the first three-pointer for our team making for an 8p. game (65-58), but the hosts replied with a partial 14-5 and once again sent the difference to sky-high levels (16p., 79-63) at 35’. Partizan even got to lead by 17 (83-66 at 37’) and practically secured the win with plenty of game time ahead.
The quarters: 27-22, 48-34, 60-52, 90-75.
