Bartzokas: «We were mentally strong» (vid)

Giorgos Bartzokas said the win over Alba came thanks to his players' mental agility.

"We got a very important win, in a game that we had to win. We had to overcome many situations, do things that are not that usual at this level. However, we showed mental strength and it was apparent in our defensive game during the third quarter. We found the momentum and got the win. In the first half, our approach was the wrong one, that's why Alba found rhythm and scored 48 points. They had 65% with 3-pointers, while at the same time, we spent fouls during execution and not trying to stop their transition. That's why our opponents shot 11 free-throws in the first half. We played much stronger in the third quarter and found many opportunities against the zone coach Gonzalez decided to play. Canaan's nine 3-pointers were very important, but I think that we played very well as a total against the zone defense. We found many open shots. That's about tonight's game. We are traveling tomorrow and we have to be ready for yet another competitive game".

When asked to comment Moses Wright's debut, he said: "I had decided that we had to make a big change in the way we think. It was a must-win game and I used a player after only one team practice. We asked him to learn some very specific plays. While he was a little hesitant at first and committed two fouls, the more the time passed, the more he was getting in rhytm. He contributed in many areas, he finished plays well. We are very happy in terms of a first game for a player that had never played before at this level".
