Bartzokas: «I want to thank our fans»

Quite a few Olympiacos' fans went to Patras and supported our team during the game against Apollon.

"It's always a special pleasure to be playing in this gym, because it favors basketball, because there is a big tradition following the Apollon team, which I hope gets to finds its way. I'm certain this is going to happen, because they have so many people supporting them", the coach of Olympiacos, Giorgos Bartzokas, stated and went on to say: "I want to thank our fans who came to support us in a game that the win was predetermined before the game even started. Some guys played a very serious game today and I'm very happy for that. Now, we are going to prepare for the Thursday game, which is very hard. I wish we are the healthiest we can, so as to fulfill our goals".

About how he prepares his team for games, that like the one with Apollon, the outcome is more or less predetermined, he said: "It's very hard. The problem gets even more amplified when we play at the Peace and Friendship Stadium, when the players think of such games as chores. They have lost motivation. But we keep stressing that motivation needs to always be present with Olympiacos, because no matter where we play, there are fans that come to see us and support the team. On the road things are better, because as you all saw, quite a few fans came to see us and the players feel obliged to reciprocate for the support. If we take out the second quarter, we played a serious game for the other three ones".
