Bartzokas: «We played an amazing defensive game»

Giorgos Bartzokas said that the amazing defense his team played in the 4th quarter was to be credited for the huge win over Partizan.

"First of all, I would like to say that the atmosphere here is impressive indeed. Last year I was sick with covid and hadn't traveled here for the game with Partizan. I now had the chance to realize watching for myself, how much the fans push their team. I think that this was what made us nervous in the first three quarters. We missed a lot of open shots, had the opportunity to finish in the transition four on one, three on one, but we still made mistakes. We were trailing the score for more than thirty minutes. We dominated in the last quarter, with a partial score 28-10 and that was decisive. Everything began from our amazing defensive game that three players, Papanikolaou, Walkup and Goss offered to the team. They defended extremely well and contained Partizan's dangerous guards. Of course, it was a team effort. But I have to say that Goss and Walkup hadn't been able to practice lately because they are coping with injuries. The fact that they offered that kind of intensity for twenty minutes was decisive. Congratulations to my team.
