Bartzokas: «It's now a problem...»

The 'red & whites' coach, Giorgos Bartzokas, expressed feeling the fact that Olympiacos has to step up in the last quarter to win games lately is becoming problematic.

"I think that everyone on the team has to accept the idea that right now, motivation, focus and willingness to fight is trained on the Euroleague games. Nevertheless, the third round has games against the best teams of the Greek League, that play without feeling the pressure that winning is a must, resulting in great motivation when they play against us in terms of outperforming us. It's becoming a problem by now because it's been 4 or 5 games in a row that we thought we were going to win without even trying. Of course, it takes a lot of energy and will on our behalf at the end to turn the games around and win. Sometimes, I wonder if the problem is that we actually win. Maybe we should be losing a game or two so that the players get to realize that you cannot be underestimating any one opponent at this level. Congrats to Peristeri. They played very well. I wish them all the best against Bonn. We are going to focus on the Friday game, when our approach is going to be totally different in terms of approach".
