Bartzokas: «I'm proud of the team»

The Olympiacos' coach, Giorgos Bartzokas declated to be proud of his players, following the defeat to Panathinaikos in game 5.

"It's my duty to congratulate Panathinaikos. They presented a very strong team this year and you always must congratulate the Champion. I'm proud for our team, not only for the effort, but also right now, at the end. Unfortunatelly, Fall's absence lowered the level of our defense. Panathinaikos scored above their average if you check the numbers with Fall and without Fall in the game. The games became offense oriented and Panathinaikos is very strong at tthat. But that's life. Sometimes circumstances are for you and others, against you. I would like to say that in the effort to have made throughout the season, we stayed together, we stayed together as a team, and if we had made a better decision at 11'' before the end, if Goss' shot had gone in or if he had passed the ball and Peters had taken an open shot, we probably would have won the Championship. I repeat that I can't have any complaints. We'll talk about what we need to do, I'm sure we are going to be even better next year and maybe luckier. Rounding the season up, we won two titles, we went to the Final Four and played Panathinaikos to five games. It was a series of enormous quality, and based on the circumstances and everything that's been happening surrounding basketball, and in addition to the heat at this time in the season".
