Bartzokas: «We are not consistent with a lot of aspects of our game»

Olympiacos had a hard time against a very combative Peristeri for the Super Cup semi-final, but got the 79-74 win nevertheless and will play against Panathinaikos on Sunday (29/09) for the first trophy of the season.

After the end of the game against Giorgos Limniatis' team, the 'red & whites' coach, Giorgos Bartzokas, after congratulating the opponent, talked about his team and the parts of their game that need improving.

"Congratulations to Peristeri, they played a good game on both ends of the floor. It's obvious that we completely lack consistency and rhythm in our game. All the players are trying to find their roles within perhaps somewhat different givens from what they were used to and that takes some time... Combined with the fact that we have only played 5 pre-season games up to now and the injuries we have been faced with haven't helped to present a compact group at this time and we are also inconsistent with many aspects of our game.

That's why the score fluctuated that way. We had to push ourselves to beat a very combative Peristeri, but these games are essentially part of our preparation. Should we had lost though, it would have been a problem and this is a parameter we should seriously consider. Our opponents are going to play us without any pressure, they will be shooting well and we, a team with so many good shooters are not allowed to shoot 22% with threes, when most of them - I counted at least 12 or 15- came after good movement of the ball and good use of the extra pass and very good shooters got the spot up but they still missed them. So, let's focus on these particular aspects of the game that we have to improve..."
