Bartzokas: «We had to push ourselves to win»

After congratulating Lavrio on the way they played for three quarters, Olympiacos' coach, Giorgos Bartzokas, talked about what our team is missing in view of a demanding schedule.

"First of all, I would like to wish all the teams health, calm and achieving their goals. For Lavrio in particular, where we got to start our season, I would like to sincerely congratulate them, they played really well for three quarters and due to fatigue and the opening of the rotation at the end, they gave up. For us, it was obviously a game that showed off all the problems we are faced with right now. Lack of cohesion, bad physical shape, a lax approach to the game. Especially in the first half, we counted 9 missed lay-ups, right under the rim. Many missed free-throws, by players that have 90% career percentage and of course many bad defensive cooperations, that allowed Lavrio to score more than 45 points in the first half - if I'm not mistaken. It took us to push ourselves to win. So, we are going through the same process all teams are going through, in order to become compact, cohesive, not abandoning any ball and of course, not underestimating anyone".
