Bartzokas: «The game against Barcelona is a very demanding one» (vid)

In the media day in view of the upcoming game vs Barcelona (31/10, 20Q15 CET), for the 7th Euroleague round, our team's coach, Giorgos Bartzokas, talked about the way the team 'recharges' in a day, after the game with Real Madrid.

"Each player has their own routine, who they rest and how they prepare mentally. The team has the same routine, practice is only tactics, we watch basic video... more practice time is for the players that hadn't had many minutes in the previous game so that they are ready in case they are needed tomorrow. It's always the same, all the teams, all the coaches have a way to handle things. From a point of mental approach, last night's game is over and gone, tomorrow's one is very demanding, against Barcelona that has four consecutive wins, they rank first, they score a lot, they are second in terms of total points scored, second in points scored in the transition... If we got to control the tempo last night with the kind of execution we has in the offense, tomorrow we need to do that much more". Peters: «We have to think about tomorrow»

On his part, Alec Peters said: "Each game is bigger. The Euroleague is a competition that needs you to do your job early on. Right now, we haven't done much of that. We have to distance ourselves from what has happened last night. We have to think about tomorrow"

He then added: "There are a lot of things I can say about myself, compared to last year. The only thing I will say right now is that I'll do the best I can with what I'm given. We have big expectations and goals this season, so whatever it is I can do to be part of all that, I will do".

Asked how he can maintain the same energy levels after such a demanding game: "We are basketball players, that's what we do. Those outside, say that players get tired by the schedule and that we have too many games to play... but this is far from the truth, that's why are here, to play games. To practicing for 2 weeks straight, or play a game every 2 weeks, what we prefer is to play games. Whoever wants to complain and say they are tired is in the wrong business".

As for the rebounds: "In some games, some people were lost in the stats, you need the first half of the season to figure out how your team stacks up. With the size we have in the post, this could theoretically be a problem, but we'll fix it".
