Bartzokas and Goss talk about the game with Partizan (vid)
Upon the 'red & whites' departure to Belgrade, in view of the game with Partizan (28/11, 20:30 CET) for the 12th round of the Euroleague, Olympiacos' coach Giorgos Bartzokas and Nigel Williams-Goss talked about their next opponent as well as about the absences the team has to cope with.
Asked about the situation with Evan Fournier's health problem, our team's coach said: "He was admitted to the hospital last night with a stomach problem. I saw him kind of beat down, we'll see how things evolve. We'll see if he plays or not, when we practice in Belgrade in the evening".
As for the game against the Serbian team: "Without a doubt, the atmosphere is going to be difficult for Olympiacos there. Even more since they see the game as a continuation of their game vs Crvena Zvezda, they kind of think of us as 'cousins' of their native opponents. Last year we won there, a very difficult game, and it will take a lot of effort on our part to win again. We have faith in our team, we believe that if we stay true to our plan and play together, we will have good chances to win the game".
As for the roster and the line-ups: "We want to use two ball-handlers in the same line-up and even three, if possible, that's what we need. Who plays with whom is not that important. But we generally want to control the game with two handlers".
«We are confident we are going to get the job done»
On his part, Williams-Goss, talking about Partizan's home court, pointed out: "It's obviously a tough court to play in, they have amazing fans, they feed off the atmosphere when they play at home. It's always difficult, but as a fighter you love to play in such arenas, and I in particular love it too".
After Giannoulis Larentzakis joked with him on camera, he proceeded to say about it: "It's good to have guys like Larentzakis, guys who have experience and have lived in great moments of the club. It brings a certain calm to the team and we know this will always be the case".
As for the absentees, he said: "We obviously would like to have a full roster each time we play, but this cannot be realistic for the whole season, but we have an excellent team, with a deep roster, we have confidence and despite the absences, we believe in all those available to play. Like I said before, we are confident we can get the job done".
