Bartzokas: «We did exactly what we should have avoided doing» (vid)

In the Press Conference following the game against Fenerbahce, Olympiacos' coach, Giorgos Bartzokas, talked about the turovers that led to the defeat, while he also said that Luca Vildoza played on his own accord since he was dealing with an abdominal muscle tear and Moustapha Fall suffered a fracture in his right hand pinkie finger and that's why he could not play the last minutes of the game. 

In his initial statement, the Greek coach said: "Congratulations to Fenerbahce, they played a really good game. They were effective with all they needed to do. On our part, it was one of the worst games I can remember during the last 4 or 5 years, I don't know if we could not think straight, but we did all that we should have avoided doing. Losing McKissic and Walkup a littile before the game, we had to play more physically in defense and all of us had to step up. Also, when attacking the ball, we had to put the ball in the paint and then decide what to do, while we also had to move the ball. It's really had to win this game having all your players removed from their playing standards. But we move on, this is our job, to realize what went wrong tonight and prepare so that we can be better in the next game". 

Asked about the last minute injuries, he said: "Our options in regard to the guards got extremely limited. The game level was a really high one. Two hours before the game, we found out that McKissic and Walkup were out. We didn't even have to prepare without them. I think that played a role, but also have to see what those who played the game did. We did not live up to the expectations of the game. Energy cannot be an excuse. Energy and intensity, they always start in the mind. If your mind is not in the right place, if you are not focused, then you are lagging. Williams-Goss played 30+ minutes, in a game where he had to defend and facilitate. The doctor told us at half-time that Vildoza had suffered  an abdominal muscle tear and played on his own volition because we had no one else to use".
