Bartzokas: «We played up to standards in the 2nd half»

Olympiacos took a 1-0 lead in the quarterfinals series against Panionios, and as the team’s coach, Giorgos Bartzokas, aptly mentioned, they must finish the job next Sunday in Nea Smyrni.

“We made the first step, we need one more win and we’ll try to achieve that next Sunday. Regarding the game, we returned yesterday and didn’t have a practice to prepare  this particular game. It was less than 48 hours from the game against Alba, and we also had a reduced rotation due to absences. So we tried to take it easy in the first half. However, Panionios is a good team, they played well in the first half, but they couldn’t match the intensity we played with in the second half, and that’s why the difference grew. This shows that we played the way we needed to, we had 28 assists, we shot much better in the second half, and that’s how the game was decided.
