The first title of the season lands in Piraeus

Olympiacos defeated Promitheas Patras 92–83 in the Super Cup Final and won the first title of the season!

The ‘red & whites’ got off to a blazing start, opening the game with an 11-0 run (3’), thanks to strong defensive focus and excellent ball movement that brought on an early lead (19-4, 6’). With Tyler Dorsey leading the charge and Nikola Milutinov, Evan Fournier, and Sasha Vezenkov contributing efficiently, our team firmly in control (26-8), before Promitheas responded in the final minutes of the quarter to trim the deficit to 26-17.

In the second quarter, Donta Hall put on a show on both ends, maintaining Olympiacos’ momentum (34–22, 12’), while Saben Lee delivered a highlight-reel dunk. Coach Giorgos Bartzokas experimented with different lineups, giving Omiros Netzipoglou his debut 1:17 before halftime, which ended with Olympiacos still in command at 49–36.

Olympiacos opened the third quarter firing from the deep, with Dorsey and Walkup hitting from beyond the arc to push the lead to 19 points (55-36, 22’). The ‘red & whites’ were never truly threatened during the quarter, keeping a double-digit cushion (61–46, 26’), and finished strong with a 9–0 run that included more Dorsey brilliance, closing the third at 70-53.

A shaky start to the final period allowed Promitheas to capitalize on back-to-back mistakes and close the gap to just 4 points (73-69, 34’). But Olympiacos responded immediately; Vezenkov and Papanikolaou stepped up, stretching the lead back to double digits (87-76, 38’). Despite a competitive effort from Promitheas in the closing minutes, Olympiacos held firm and sealed the 92-83 victory.

The quarters: 29-17, 49-36, 70-53, 92-83.
