The Presidents' statements after winning the Super Cup

Olympiacos' Presidents Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos spoke to ERT just moments after the team claimed the Super Cup title against Promitheas.
Here’s what they had to say:
Panagiotis Angelopoulos, when asked whether the Super Cup is a continuation of last season’s success, noted: “If you mean the championship we won, then yes, it is a continuation. After a summer with new signings, the team is continuing on the same path. It always aims for titles. The team is strengthened, more athletic. Today, a new player arrived, also very athletic. We believe the team will be even better than last year.”
In the same tone, Giorgos Angelopoulos highlighted the importance of starting the year with a trophy: “It’s the ideal start to the new season. We hope to keep going like this and win many titles this year.”
On the club's acquisition of the SEF arena, Giorgos Angelopoulos underlined: “The most important step was the agreement for the Peace and Friendship Stadium that was finalized over the summer, along with all the other moves we made for the team. We always try to do what’s best.”
When asked if the signing of Frank Ntilikina was the final roster move, he replied: “That’s up to the coach. The team is in a very good place. During the season, we’re always monitoring things. If something is needed, we’ll evaluate it.”
On the strongest attribute of this year’s Olympiacos squad, Panagiotis Angelopoulos said: “I think I already answered that earlier; improved athleticism compared to last year’s team.”
He also commented on the increasing difficulty of the EuroLeague: “EuroLeague gets tougher every year. That’s why so many players are needed, and that’s why we have so many good players.”
On the team’s primary goal, he was clear: “The important thing is to qualify for the playoffs. Whether you finish first or in another position during the regular season doesn’t matter, that’s been proven. There will be a lot of games. Every team has strengthened. Our goal is to make it to the Final Four.”
When asked if Olympiacos should be considered a favorite, Giorgos Angelopoulos responded: “I don’t think we’re the favorites. Olympiacos is part of the elite of European basketball; hopefully we’ll reach the top. But other teams are considered favorites, especially this year, so we don’t feel any extra pressure. What we do feel is extra desire and hunger. But it’s far too early to be talking about trophies.”
Finally, in response to a question about the family-like atmosphere within Olympiacos, Panagiotis Angelopoulos emphasized: “That’s always been one of our strongest characteristics. Otherwise, you can’t be making the Final Four year after year. If there’s no chemistry between players, coaches... if that didn’t exist, we wouldn’t be reaching the Final Four every season.”
