Bartzokas: "We want to thank our fans"

In the press conference following Olympiacos' home win over Panionios, head coach Giorgos Bartzokas expressed his satisfaction with the return of Thomas Walkup and Evan Fournier from injury, as well as the opportunity to rest Dorsey, Vezenkov, and Milutinov after a string of consecutive games.

In his opening remarks, he said: “We thank our fans who came out on a Sunday afternoon to watch the game. To be honest, it didn’t offer much excitement, apart from a few highlight plays, and our performance lacked consistency, which is understandable after so many consecutive games. Our goal was to reintegrate Fournier and Walkup, and to rest Dorsey, Vezenkov, and Milutinov, who had played a lot in the previous matches. So, with that in mind, we’re satisfied. Congratulations to Panionios and best of luck going forward.”

When asked about the possible return of injured player Shaquielle McKissic ahead of the game against Bayern Munich, he said that yes, it’s likely, since McKissic has started practicing with the team and this week there is only one game on Friday; providing time for full team training.
